This is not a reporting role. It's a building role.

CD Commerce GmbH manages multiple e-commerce brands across Shopify and various marketplaces. The data is there. The dashboards exist. What we're missing is someone who can make them mean something.

We need a commercially-minded finance person who doesn't work in a silo — someone who sits with Brand Managers, digs into the Supply Chain numbers, and turns operational decisions into financial insight before they become expensive mistakes. This is a build-from-scratch role, not a maintain-the-status-quo one. You'll work directly with the CEO and COO from day one.

Financial Planning Layer

Drive the annual business plan across departments, own variance analysis, and give leadership real-time visibility into cash flow, liquidity, and capital efficiency. No more guesswork from static spreadsheets.

Automated Reporting

Replace manual spreadsheet work with scalable, repeatable processes. One source of truth — KPI dashboards that validate results, surface risks, and highlight opportunities. Not just data. Decisions.

Product Economics

Build product cohort analysis, lifecycle forecasting, and the financial case for which SKUs to scale — and which to sunset. Identify cash leaks before they become structural problems.

Business Planning & Reporting

  • Drive the annual business plan, keeping Sales, Marketing, Supply Chain, and Management aligned on assumptions, targets, and risks
  • Lead the budgeting cycle, own variance analysis, and deliver clear monthly insight into actual vs. forecast
  • Translate operational decisions — product launches, sourcing, expansion — into their impact on liquidity and profitability
  • Automate KPI dashboards and replace manual spreadsheet processes with scalable systems
  • Build a single-source-of-truth reporting layer that leadership actually uses

Product Portfolio & Cash Flow

  • Build and maintain product cohort analysis — revenue, margin, and growth contribution by launch year and lifecycle stage
  • Tailor forecasting assumptions by stage: launch, scale-up, maturity, decline — not a one-size-fits-all model
  • Identify cash leaks: slow-moving inventory, unprofitable SKUs, storage fee creep, return-rate margin erosion, subscription and service overpays
  • Build the financial case for product discontinuation — working capital freed up, opportunity cost of keeping them alive
  • Maintain a 2-year liquidity and cash flow plan, surface risks early, and recommend operational adjustments

Cross-Functional Partnership

  • Partner with Brand Managers, Supply Chain, and R&D — finance is the connective tissue, not a back-office function
  • Challenge product, sourcing, and marketing decisions with data — not just report on them
  • Bring portfolio-level financial discipline to launch, reinvestment, and sunset decisions

Tools & AI

  • Leverage AI tools — Claude, LLM-powered analysis — to accelerate financial modeling and insight generation
  • Drive integration of finance tools with existing systems where it improves speed or quality of insight

01Bachelor's degree + 3–5 years FP&A or corporate finance

Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field. 3–5 years of experience in FP&A, corporate finance, or M&A. eCommerce or CPG background is a real plus — you understand the operational dynamics, not just the numbers.

02Strong financial modeling

Scenario planning, variance analysis, cohort modeling — you build models that drive decisions, not just ones that look good in a slide deck.

03Deep comfort with data

Highly proficient in Google Sheets or Excel. Experience with BI or dashboarding tools is a strong plus. You have a natural instinct for turning data into decisions.

04Cross-functional communicator

You're comfortable challenging product, sourcing, or marketing decisions with data — not just reporting on them. Excellent English, written and spoken.

05Genuine AI interest

You're not just open to AI tools — you're actively curious about them. You see LLM-powered analysis and automation as a core part of how modern finance should work.

06Builder mentality

You're able to build processes from scratch in a fast-paced, lean environment. You don't wait for a playbook — you write it.

This role is 100% remote and Philippines-based. You'll work directly with leadership across time zones, with high autonomy and direct access to decision-makers from day one.
